Mercedes-Benz Group AG is one of the world's most successful automotive companies. With the increased focus to luxury following the rising customer demand Mercedes-Benz will concentrate on three product categories in future: Top-End Luxury, Core Luxury and Entry Luxury.
Top End Luxury:
- All vehicles from Mercedes-AMG and from Mercedes-Maybach
- The electric Top End vehicles such as Mercedes-EQ EQS and Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV
- All S-Class, G-Class, GLS and Limited Edition models
Core Luxury:
- All vehicles based on EVA2 [Electric Vehicle Architecture] (Mercedes-EQ EQE & Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV)
- All C-Class and E-Class models
Entry Luxury:
- Due to the reason that the EVA2 architecture is to large for the compact cars Mercedes-Benz invented the MMA [Mercedes Modular Architecture] and will start in 2024. Rumors say that their will be 4 different models in future.
Next to this overall strategy Mercedes-Benz Group is concentrating different design perspectives of luxury for each of their brands (only brands who are building new models):
- Mercedes-Benz - Modern Luxury
- Mercedes-EQ - Progressive Luxury
- Mercedes-AMG - Performance Luxury
- Mercedes-Maybach - Ultimate Luxury
History of the brand:
The company founders, Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz, made history by inventing the automobile and mobility in 1886. Carl Benz was focusing of inventing a motorized vehicle. Gottlieb Daimler focus on inventing a small engine that could be used in different means of transportation such as ships, motorcycles, trains, plains, etc.
Merging in 1926, exactly 40 years after founding the companies Mercedes-Benz as brand was born.
